Conferences & Training

Our training programmes include support worker induction, brain injury awareness days and master classes for professionals on topics of interest in brain injury.

Many members of the Head First team regularly present at conferences and take part in national forums regarding the development of brain injury services.

Since 2008 we have hosted an annual conference, each year exploring a specific theme relevant to both clinical and legal professionals. The conferences integrate research and knowledge of renowned specialists, with the intention of reflecting on and enhancing current practice in the field of brain injury.

Training

Case Managers at Head First regularly present at conferences and have delivered bespoke lectures, seminars and workshops on rehabilitation, case management and care for professionals working in the field of brain injury, Solicitors, Support Workers and Students from higher education colleges.

Research

Head First carries out research and development of which further information will be posted here soon.

Recruitment

Head First is constantly expanding in the various aspects of its works, which includes setting rehabilitation goals with clients and Support Workers in the home setting; facilitating the client's and family's adjustment to the injuries; recruiting, training and supporting support workers; and managing care regimes.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is essential to enable clients' to generalise their skills into everyday life after a severe brain injury. The Case Managers liaise with relevant others including Families and Therapy professionals to establish and co-ordinate timely and cost effective community-based rehabilitation programmes.
