ABI Training Day

This course is designed for delegates from any care sector including Support Workers, Case Managers, Supervisors and Legal Representatives with little or no experience in Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). It is also suitable for anyone with a personal interest in ABI, who would like to develop a better understanding of this silent epidemic.

Our expert-led training sessions are designed to facilitate discussion and interaction, and the course aims to fulfil the following learning outcomes:

Participants will be able to:

  • develop awareness of the impact of ABI on the injured person and their family
  • learn who is involved in supporting individuals and families to progress after ABI and gain an appreciation of how rehabilitation might be achieved
  • gain an appreciation of what drives behaviour after ABI, and recognise common misinterpretations of motive
  • have the opportunity to work in groups discussing the subject matter throughout the day and contributing to each others' learning
  • further develop their ability to contribute effectively to the lives of individuals they work with
